Principal, Leffingwell Elementary School (Whittier, California)
I felt incredibly prepared and confident after completing my B.A. and M.A. at Biola University. Coming out of Biola, I felt like I had a head start on many of my colleagues. Biola really prepared me to immediately make an impact in the field of education. I left Biola with a strong knowledge base, confident I could put classroom theory into practice, and with a firm grip on my philosophy of education.
In addition, I was challenged to go out into the world and make a difference for Christ through my day-to-day job. The Christian life should not be separate from work. We need to represent Christ through our words, actions, and excellence in the field. You never know who is watching and the impact you may or may not have in their life. I enjoyed having professors who taught from a Christian worldview and emphasized the importance of keeping Christ at the center of all we do!
Now, as an administrator, I am always excited to see Biola students observing on my campus or doing their student teaching at my school, because I know they will do a great job and make an impact on our students!
