Refocusing. Peeling back the multifaceted layers of misbehavior in the classroom to cultivate an effective learning environment.
From time to time, many of us educators find ourselves in classrooms where management seems impossible. Disruptions and relational dynamics seem to clash with good pedagogy and great intentions. Join us as we hear from Mickie Wong-Lo (Ph.D.) and Dennis Eastman (Ph.D.) who will discuss behavior motivation, social-emotional development, and tips for succeeding in those difficult classrooms. Wong-Lo is currently an associate professor in the School of Education at Biola, a board certified behavior analyst, a member of the board of directors for the Council for Exceptional Children, and currently serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Preventing School Failure, Journal of Gang Research, and Multiple Voices for Ethnically Diverse Exceptional Learners. Eastman is currently an associate professor as well as the director of Secondary Education at Biola University, and the associate director of Biola Youth Academics.
