Preliminary Credentials

The School of Education's Teacher Preparation Program enables you to earn a preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential to teach in an elementary school or a preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential to teach in junior high or high school.

Biola is one of the few universities that allows you to couple teacher preparation courses with your undergraduate major in order to earn a credential by the end of your senior year. You also have the option of completing just a portion of the Teacher Preparation Program as an undergraduate and then transition seamlessly to finish the program at the graduate level.

Benefits of Biola's Teacher Preparation Program include:

  • All programs are dually-accredited from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the Association of Christian Schools International.
  • We have a fully doctored, full-time faculty made up of outstanding professionals, passionate believers and excellent K-12 classroom teachers.
  • Faculty and staff care about your personal, professional and spiritual life. Professors are available for personal mentoring.
  • Biblical integration across the curriculum.
